My love of piano began when I was 6 and led me to earn a bachelors and masters degree in piano performance. Now piano is my full time profession as well as my lifetime hobby!

Here are 3 practical areas to improve while working on a piece…

  1. Play musically by observing the phrasing. Similar to the English language, notes are grouped into a one idea to provide unity. to a song or piece.

  2. Play musically by observing the dynamics. Dynamics simply refers to the volume levels ( the louds & softs & everything in between). Never using is dynamics is not only boring for you but also for your audience!

  3. Play musically by observing the style of your song/piece. What time period was it written on & what are the characteristics of that era? What are the characterisics of the composer/writer?
